Located at the heart of Bonifacio Global City, Niu by Vikings has definitely lived up to the upscale market of SM Aura Premiere. Serving only the best dishes prepared by world-class chefs, Niu was able to level up the standards of buffet dining.
During the Blogapalooza event, Niu invited bloggers for a quick 30-minute tour of their newly opened place, complete with a ‘tour guide’ and sets of samplers of their best sellers. It wasn’t my first time to visit their place during the event – in fact, I have already accessed 100% of their menu during a media preview, which I gladly covered for When in Manila. And to tell you honestly, this place is by far the best buffet dining experience that I ever had.
Leaning towards catering the upper class market, Niu by Vikings offers private spaces for intimate dinners and has servers who are more than willing to bring your food to your table. The ambiance also resembles that of a five-star hotel, with its sleek interior and modern ensemble. Their menu is also noticeably posh, offering a variety of premium dishes on all of its nine sections. From the usual Japanese to the rare Foie Gras, they really have something for everyone.
Apart from maki, I am also in love (more like obsessed) with their New Zealand Garlic and Rosemary Stuffed Leg of Lamb with wild mushroom gravy. I tried this during the media tour, and being such a meat lover that I am, I quickly fell in love with how the spices blended with the meat and was exquisitely complemented by the wild mushroom sauce. I also love their beef medallion, which was also served during the media tour. The ‘medallion’ is actually beef wrapped in bacon, topped with a poached egg, and served together with mashed potato, strips of asparagus, and carrot. This is not really available on their buffet table, but you can have it ordered with no extra charge.
All in all, Niu is something that’s worth visiting for. Aside from their mouthwatering dishes, it’s also relatively cheap, considering the quality of the food that they are offering you. For around Php 1,500, you’ll be able to have a taste from their wide array of food, plus you’d get to be treated like a king while you eat like a Viking. So if you’re feeling hungry and you can’t decide on which dish you’d like to have, drop by at their place and enjoy a whole lot of selection that’s worth your money!
