Les Emotifs Anonymes (2010)
Romantics Anonymous

Director: Jean-Pierre Améris
Starring: Benoît Poelvoorde; Isabelle Carré

As I've mentioned on my post before, I actually went through a film torrent hoarding phase, and I'm still finishing them out up to this day. My to-watch list is actually still a plenty, and I can't wait to share them to you guys once I've finally gone through them.

Anyway, my latest watch would be Les Emotifs Anonymes, a romantic-comedy French film, featuring Benoît Poelvoorde and Isabelle Carré. It's a pretty light story that revolves around the crazy and emotional relationship of Angélique (Carré) and Jean-René (Poelvoorde).

Angélique, a shy yet talented chocolate maker, finds her way to the Chocolate Mill, owned by the anxious Jean-René. Both of them are extremely emotional and are always afraid of what lies ahead -- whether it be intimacy, phone calls, and even speaking to people. They both try their best to hide their fears, with Jean-René visiting his psychologist every so often, while Angélique attend a 'Romantics Anonymous' support group.

In spite of their issues and fears, they were able to found a common ground with their passion for chocolates. It's nothing too serious and it's perfect if you're just looking for a film that will make you smile in the end.

Les Emotifs Anonymes is a really nice film, just like a hot cup of chocolate on a rainy day. It will make you feel warm and happy without the need of too much cheesiness or intimacy. Just like cocoa, it brings back innocence and romance on a different level.

Rating: 8/10
